The State of Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry web site was created in 1997 to monitor and track those individuals who have been convicted of sex crimes. This information is then provided to the public so that they might be able to take the proper measures in protecting themselves and their families from those sex offenders who are likely to reoffend. The registry also assists in promoting awareness of the prevalence of sex crimes in the state.
