How do I look up sex offenders in Rhode Island?
To look up sex offenders in Rhode Island, you can use the Rhode Island Sex Offender Community Notification Unit’s online database. You can access the database on the unit’s website at http://www.risor.ri.gov/sor/. The website allows you to search for registered sex offenders by name, address, or geographic area. You can also sign up to receive email notifications when a registered sex offender moves into your neighborhood.
Sex offender registries are systems put in place by individual state and county jurisdictions that are designed to allow government authorities as well as citizens to track the residences of sex offenders, including those who have already served their sentences. These registries are often made available to the public via a website or publication, allowing citizens of a community to be aware of sex offenders and/or child predators may be living.
