All sex offenders and predatory sex offenders are required to register.  A sex offender in Oregon is defined as a person who has been convicted of a sex crime, found guilty except for insanity of a sex crime, is within jurisdiction of the juvenile court for committing an act that would have been a sex crime if the person was an adult.  or, is paroled to Oregon after being convicted in another jurisdiction for an offense that would constitute a sex crime in Oregon.

A predatory sex offender is defined as a person who shows characteristics or a tendency to victimize or injure others and has been found guilty except for insanity of:

  • Rape
  • Sodomy
  • Unlawful sexual penetration
  • Sexual Abuse
  • Attempt to commit either of these offenses

The following information is required from offenders:

  • Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Physical description
  • Photograph
  • City and zip code where the offender lives
  • Name and telephone number of a contact person at the agency that supervises the offender.
